US$1.2bn in cryptocurrency, DeFi losses in H1 of 2024 due to hacks, scams, & exploits

Substantial losses within the crypto and decentralized finance (DeFi) sectors YTD amounting to USD 1.19billion.

The report comes through Finance Magnates: citing a report from blockchain safety agency CertiK:

• phishing assaults emerged as probably the most damaging vector, accounting for $497.7 million in losses throughout 150 incidents.
